BlackGuard  - Mobile coverage measurements

Teleanalyse uses BlackGuard to measure and analyze mobile coverage. The system was developed by Teleanalyse, and since 2016 has been used in over 100 measurement tasks in Denmark and internationally.

BlackGuard is a 100% fully automatic measurement system based on standard Android mobile phones. The automation means that measurements can be carried out without prior knowledge of mobile systems, and can be sent around with a car, truck, bus or train. The system runs on mains power or up to 48 hours on battery.

The system can measure all mobile technologies, i.e. 2G, 3G, 4G and 5G. In addition, up to 32 WiFi access points in both the 2.4 and 5.1 GHz bands can be measured simultaneously.

The measurement results are available in Google Earth format (KML), in GIS format (QGIS or Mapinfo), and in plain spreadsheets.
